The junctions of the upholstery are double stitched together, and the connections are adorned with a matching leather cord. The upholstery is precision-tacked to the frame with decorative gilt nails. The sofa has a curved, solid wood, framed seatback, and centered in the seatback frame is a marvelous carved shell with carved foliate details on each side. Its armrests end in carved scroll details, and the lower front of the frame has a Spanish colonial style apron. Centered in the apron is a matching carved shell, ad the shell is accompanied on each side by carved scroll designs. It rests on graceful, cabriole style legs.
