This versatile handcrafted trunk also functions as a practical bench. The center of its rectangular padded seat is upholstered with textured, full grain leather. Both sides of the top are upholstered with slightly darker, full grain leather in a western design. Two leather belts with silver-plated buckles also adorn the top of the seat. The front side of the seat is upholstered with lighter, patterned, full grain leather. The hinged seat can be raised to reveal ample space for practical storage. The junctions of the leather are painstaking sewn together for extra strength, and the leather is precision tacked to the frame with decorative gilt nails. Below the seat is a rounded straight molding, and this molding design is repeated on the lower base of the bench. The two molding designs are separated by a carved, twist rope design. It is supported by bun style feet, and the feet are enhanced with vertical, carved, fluted details. The trunk has a classic finish, and it is made with the best, sustainable, solid wood available.
